All of our products are complied with the European Union's environmental laws and regulations. IEI is committed to continuously promoting environmental protection policies and providing RoHS compliant products for our customers.
Care of Environment
In order to achieve sustainable development goals, the world have made environmental regulations for restricted chemical substances, energy use, recycling of electronic products, and required full information disclosure.

• Regulations and rules
The European Court restricts the use of Deca-BDE (decabrominated biphenyl ethers) flame retardant in electrical and electronics products and entered into force on July 1, 2008.
EU REACH centralizes chemical laws through registration, evaluation and authorization and entered into force on June 1, 2008.
EU Directive 2006/122/EC PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonates) entered into force on June 27, 2008.
EU Directive 2009/251/CE prohibits and restricts the placing or making available on the European market products containing Dimethylfumarate (DMF) and entered into force on May 1, 2009.
EU RoHS directive 2011/65/EUentered into force on January 2, 2013.
EU RoHS directive 2015/863/EUentered into force on June 24, 2015.
China “Administration on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Product (EIP)” (ACPEIP) promulgated on February 28, 2006 and entered into force on March 1, 2007.

• Regulations and rules description
EU RoHS
The EU electrical and electronic equipment Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, entering into force on 1 July 2006, restricts the use of six hazardous substances, including lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in manufacture of large household appliances, small household appliances, IT and telecommunications equipment, consumer equipment, lighting equipment, electrical and electronic tools, toys, leisure and sports equipment, vending machines and other electrical and electronic products. DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP were added as part of directive in 2015.
EU Package
EU Packaging Directive entering into force on 1 July 2006 aims to reduce packaging weight and volume, packaging materials and components of hazardous substances, and to meet targets for the recovery and recycling of packaging waste.
China RoHS
China "Administration on the Control of Pollution Caused by Electronic Information Product" entered into force on 28 February 2006. It requires that all electronic products sold in China need to be marked with information about hazardous materials or elements, use period, recycling and packaging material.
EU REACH
Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) is a European Union regulation that came into effect on 1 June 2008. This EC regulation centralizes and simplifies chemical laws through registration, evaluation and authorisation. It is the declared objective to increase the level of knowledge of the dangers and risks which arise from chemicals. Here, the companies are given more responsibility for the safe handling of their products.
EU Battery
The new EU directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators came into force on 26 September 2008. It covered many battery types, including battery packs, portable batteries, automotive batteries, industrial batteries, etc.
Taiwan EPA
Taiwan EPA Toxic Substances Control Act prohibits the use of toxic substances.
EU Deca-BDE, PFOS and DMF
EU Directives prohibit and restrict the placing or making available on the European market products containing Deca-BDE, PFOS and DMF.
