An O2O smart store hosts a POS system in local site and syncs the inventory and sales information to the E-Commerce cloud. In the case of network or system failure, the store can still provide services. There will be Wi-Fi available in the store for the consumers to search and order goods from the app installed in their own smartphone or from the tablet provided on the cart. The shopping cart will provide discount information to the consumers.
Retail business model in China is changing rapidly. The chain stores and shops are seeking IoT solutions to help them improve user experiences. IEI was invited to join a project of setting up a smart store in China. The main ideas are O2O and shopping guidance. The store provides wireless network allowing consumers to do shopping on their smartphone.
